What’s the point of using bands? Why not just increase the weight? A band is just a giant elastic. It’s sole purpose is to create more and more resistance the more it gets stretched. So adding a band to an exercise can be used in 2 different ways: (1) banding bottom to top will make the movement harder in the mid-short (top) position and will leave us with the loaded weight in the lengthened (bottom) position. (2) banding top to bottom will leave us with the loaded weight in the mid-short (top)
